A large-scale communication campaign about public health is starting in 40 villages of Georgia.

The information campaign organized by UNA Georgia is carried out with the financial support of the European Union and the World Health Organization.

Within the framework of the project, a large-scale communication campaign about public health is starting in 8 regions of Georgia.

In the first phase, regional facilitators selected from 40 villages participated in a two-day training, within the framework of which they improved their qualifications in the following issues: public health and immunization, media literacy, disinformation and infodemic, and effective communication.

In the opening part of the event, allergist-immunologist Bidzina Kulumbegov addressed the participants and talked about the importance of public health.

Anna Borshevska, a representative of the World Health Organization, also attended the event.

After the completion of the trainings, informational meetings and trainings will be held for three months (September-November) with the residents of Kakheti, Samegrelo, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Guria, Adjara, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Imereti villages as part of the information campaign

The meetings will be held in the village gathering places, in the yards and houses of the local residents, so that attending the meetings, participating in the discussions and receiving information on interesting topics will be easily accessible to the villagers.

The goal of the project is to increase the awareness of the population of Georgia about public health, including informing the population of villages far from urban centers, mountainous regions, villages compactly inhabited by ethnic minorities, and the population living in settlements located near the occupation line.
