2013-01-28

January 28, members of ANI’s Gori Youth Center met with the Head of Infrastructure Development and Urban Planning Unit of Gori Municipality, Mr. Aleko Khachiuri, to advocate for an improved regulation of traffic signs in the city, especially at pedestrian crossing areas, where the absence of relevant road signs increase the possibility of pedestrian road accidents, especially among youth.

During the meeting, youngsters brought forward several other issues as well, including extremely poor sanitary condition of city’s underground pedestrian crossings. As a result of the advocacy initiative, the local government has pledged to examine all issues discussed at the meeting and work on identifying timelysolutions to them.
