UNAG seeks to promote effective public institutions and support transparent, representative, pluralist and accountable governance. The government should directly and positively influence the lives of citizens, encourage citizen participation, and promote the market economy. The inability of public institutions to function effectively and transparently can undermine the sustainability of the democratization process in Georgia.
