Youth Democracy Clubs

Youth Democracy Clubs have been established in two towns - Gori (Shida Kartli province, eastern Georgia) and Kutaisi (Imereti province, western Georgia) - to promote youth participation, boost social debate, and provide linkages with civil society organizations.
The clubs serve as hubs for an array of activities directed toward transferring democratic values, promoting pluralistic decision-making and activism, encouraging a culture of discussion, and increasing the involvement of youth in decision-making.

Activities

The Youth Democracy Clubs host discussion meetings on various aspects of democratic governance and human rights, tapping international, governmental, and non-governmental experts as facilitators. The clubs have access to a new library containing various materials and literature on democratic governance systems, human rights and fair elections, market economies, and transparency. A “Web-World” component provides free internet access, as well as access to specific information, materials, and contacts.
