On Tuesday, May 16 at 12:00 p.m., USAID’s Building for the Future program hosted a youth exhibition forum in the Philharmonic. 20 school-based youth clubs from all over Georgia participated in the event and put handicrafts, publications, pictures, and videos featuring club activities on public display.  At the official ceremony, at 3 p.m., there was a short presentation about the activities and accomplishments of the youth clubs over the past year. Also at 3 p.m., the winners of Building for the Future’s “Global Island” challenge were announced – the exceptional youth clubs from Akhaltsikhe and Rustavi.

During the closing ceremony, the youth clubs received awards for outstanding achievements and the winners of the 2006 small grants program were announced. A video collage was also shown during the closing ceremonies which highlighted the broad range of activities and public events that have been carried out by the youth activist clubs over the past year

“The existence of programs like BFF is of great importance in Georgia and its role in improving the education environment is immeasurable. The program is supported by the American government and supports Georgian schools,” Ms. Gela Tsipuria, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, said in her speech.
