First School Model UN to be conducted on May 15, 2011 at the № 42 public school

UN Association of Georgia (UNAG), with support of the UN Development Program (UNDP) launched a new School Model UNs cycle. First Model UN will be conducted on May 15, 2011 at the № 42 public school.

Model UN participants at the № 42 public school were selected based on their applications. Total number of 20 students will be taking part in this event on Sunday; May 15. UNAG conducted training sessions for students throughout the month, helped them to prepare for the big day.

School Model UN will take place in the auditorium of the № 42 public school. It will last six hours. This year’s topic of the Model UN is environmental sustainability. Students will represent their countries, debate and adopt the UN resolution. At the end of the day, five outstanding participants of the Model UN will be revealed. Selected students will have the chance to participate in School Model UN finals.

Total eight public schools will participate in the first cycle (Spring Season), throughout the country. Information about the other schools will be provided shortly.
